"Dual Frequency" means you can set up F1 on the channel used to page out your department..typically shared with other departments on a county-wide basis.  F2 can be used as a monitor for all traffic on a "fireground" channel used by your department.
The 4 position A-D selector knob on the top is programmed to provide the user with various combinations of VIBRA-Page™ only, tone alert only, tone with voice, voice only, scan etc. as desired.
